Land Rover UK are bundling a Customer CO2 Offset into the on-the-road price of all year 2007 models. This means that anyone in the UK who buys a new Land Rover in 2008, will also be paying towards environmental projects (through Climate Care) that reduce CO2 emissions globaly by roughly the same amount that manufacturing and driving the 4×4, for the first 45,000 miles (72,400 Km), will produce.
I think this is a great initiative and hope that Ford expands the program to all their cars globally as soon as possible. I’d also like to see top up credits available for owners after the car clocks over the 72,400 Km cut-off.
